Chandra serves as a principal at Trinity and its affiliated companies in a variety of roles and responsibilities on a full time and active basis. Chandra brings to Trinity 20 years of experience as a successful entrepreneur and an active private investor.
In addition to his day to day role at Trinity, Sanjay Chandra serves as vice chairman and a board member of AMERICAN LEATHER, the nation's leading manufacturer specializing exclusively in the design and manufacture of quality, custom-designed, made-to-order upholstered leather furniture. Further, Chandra serves as a board member of Bentwood Kitchens Inc., a manufacturer of high-end custom kitchens sold through a variety of dealers and retailer nationwide, along with similar roles at several other privately held companies.
Before co-founding AMERICAN LEATHER in 1990, Chandra was employed with Accenture (formerly Anderson Consulting a division of Arthur Anderson & Co.), where he specialized in computer integrated manufacturing systems, business systems development and Just-In-Time manufacturing methods. During the course of his consulting career, Chandra completed consulting assignments for several multi-national companies including Ford Motor Company, Volkswagen, General Electric, and Samsung Corning.
Chandra also worked with the George Group as director of systems design, where he specialized in cycle-time reduction and other business and manufacturing productivity improvements. George Group was acquired by Accenture in 2007.
Graduating with highest honors in 1987 from the University of Texas at Austin, Chandra received a bachelor's of science in electrical and computer engineering. He is also a CFA Charterholder with the CFA Institute.
